Fun With Books; No Reading Involved
If you have ever found yourself inside the library at Florida Atlantic University’s campus in Boca Raton in room 350C, you were probably surprised to be surrounded by a collection of books that seems to be straight out of a Tim Burton movie. Some are carved into unique shapes, some created specifically to look like wild vibrant centerpieces, and some scraps of paper shaped in such a way that you would never think to call it a book. This is the Jaffe Center for Book Arts. On Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., the Jaffe Center is offering a Daybook Workshop hosted by instructor Denise Delgado, a Miami-based writer, curator, and artist. The workshop will focus on using writing and visual cues to inspire creativity and creative thinking. This is the fourth time for this workshop, which is one of many the Jaffe Center presents for those who are creatively inclined. The workshop costs $35 for the general public, $25 for FAU students, and $30 for FAU faculty and staff and students from other institutions. The library is located on Florida Atlantic University’s main campus at 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. To join the mailing list and be alerted of upcoming workshops and events, send an email to John Cutrone with subject “mailing list” at email@example.com. Visit fau.edu.
