Gamble on Howe

Parlay your way through greyhound simulcasts, try your hand at poker and then take a seat and enjoy a performance from former Bad Company lead singer Brian Howe as he belts out one of his timeless classics like "No Smoke Without A Fire,” or “If You Need Somebody;” Not a bad way to spend your Tuesday. Such is the offbeat pairing that the ‘70s era rockers- performing- at- casinos craze affords classic rock fans. An enthusiast of Bad Company’s 1990 comeback album Holy Water for instance may never consider playing the slots under normal circumstances, but while killing some time as Howe warms up, they may find themselves hitting the jackpot at one of Mardi Gras’s many Las Vegas-style machines. Likewise, a curious casino regular, not familiar with Bad Company, could wander to the grandstand section and marvel at Howe’s range on "Walk Through Fire.” This Mardi Gras frequenter becoming a new Howe devotee, picking up one of Howe’s solo records on his way home. It is a win-win situation for all parties involved. In addition, considering this show is free, there is not much to lose here. Audiences have everything to gain however with Howe, who also fronted Ted Nugent’s band and has released three solo albums, and his illustrious vocals. The concert takes place on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Mardi Gras Casino, located at 831 N Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach. This is a free show. Visit, or call 954-924-3200.
