Get Your Naan Ready
The promise of a festival with henna tattooing alone is too much to resist yes, you still love to freak our parents out with a face-spanning henna tribal but throw in the possibility of eating outrageous amounts of curry, and youre totally there. But thats not all. The assortment of bartha, aloo gobi, vindaloo, korma, and more at the Twelfth Annual Festival of India will be as vast as the Indian Ocean, so go ahead and get your naan on. Sample grub from restaurants Madras Café, Khana Khvana, Nirala, and Taste of Bombay, then head to the Indian ice cream station to cool your inner thermostat. Just dont forget the aforementioned tattooing and arts and crafts booths. If that wasnt already enough, a cultural program with pageantry, dance, and cooking demonstrations will keep you entertained until the partys over. It all starts Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts (2855 Coral Springs Dr., Coral Springs). Admission costs $5. Visit www.aiaflorida.org.
