Get Your Red, White, and Green On
If you non-Italians are being honest, you have to admit that youre a little jealous of those of us who descended from the boot. As children, our elders gave us authentic food of love and goodness while you suffered trips to the Olive Garden. You were robbed, and youre right to feel bitter.
Fortunately, we Italian-Americans are a giving people, always willing to share our rich culture. This Friday through Sunday, you can experience the greatness of Italy at the inaugural Carnevale Delray Beach. Held at Old School Square (Atlantic and Swinton avenues in Delray Beach), the festival will offer food, live music, assorted events, and even a 50-foot replica of the Trevi Fountain. Put down the egg noodles, turn off Jersey Shore, and head to Delray to see what youve been missing.
The festival runs from 4 to 11 p.m.
Friday, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $10, or free for kids under 12 and military personnel. Call 561-445-4712, or visit
Fri., March 25, 4 p.m.; Sat., March 26, noon, 2011
