The festival-going community in South Florida had some mixed reactions to the moving of Langerado from the swampy stretches west of Broward to the fairer shores of Biscayne Bay. Lots of die-hard hippy types are pissed that their homegrown fest is going all MIA on them (and maybe they have a point, based on that lineup). But, guys, don't forget about the other fest that switched spots this year. Open Grass Arts & Music Festival, which had holed up in Lake Worth for the last two years, has relocated to Old School Square in Delray Beach. That means Open Grass will have a much more central location in which to party on Saturday and Sunday (two days straight - woo-hoo!). The close proximity to downtown Delray gives you the choice of popping over to Elwood's or DaDa's for a drink between sets by Big Cypress, Sosos, and Laura Reed & Deep Pocket, among others. Of course, there's still plenty to do in the fest proper, from visiting vendors hocking nifty merch to bringin' the lil' ones to the children's art tent. The hippie vibe even spreads to the tickets: single admission passes are $30 in advance, but you can also nab a family pass for $50 that will get you and all your relatives through the gate.

Old School Square is at 51 N. Swinton Ave. in Delray Beach. The fest opens at noon each day. Visit opengrass.com.
