Jurassic Museum

If you claim you have never once wanted to reach out and touch a piece of art at a museum, well then, you are lying and I don't want to be friends with you anymore. Even the lamest of art exhibits contains something you want to touch, but good morals and a solid life lesson keep your hands where they belong -- by your sides. Well, finally there is an exhibit interesting enough for adults, educational enough for kids, and badass enough that you can touch it. "Dinosaurs in Motion" is more than just a re-creation of dinosaurs past. It's a futuristic look at the Jurassic age through 14 metal dinosaurs sculpted to represent real fossils. Through lever and pulley systems, visitors are able to manipulate these beasts and watch as they control the dinosaurs. Designed to bring to life the principles of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), this exhibit also emphasizes using recycled materials, making it an all-around enriching experience. "Dinosaurs in Motion" runs through Sunday at the Museum of Discovery & Science, located at 401 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $12 for children. Call 954-467-MODS, or visit
Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., Jan. 5, 12-6 p.m. Starts: Dec. 30. Continues through Jan. 4, 2013
