Boa noite -- that's Portuguese for "good night" -- which is exactly the kind of time attendees will have at Saturday's female vocal choir Brazilian Voices' concert, Rhythm. Much as the name suggests, this vocal ensemble -- consisting of 30 women onstage -- explores the beats, percussion, and liveliness of Brazilian music. More than just bossa nova, these ladies will dish out songs by Brazilian contemporary artists such as Gilberto Gil, Maria Gadu, and Lenie. The talented chanteuses, who won the Brazilian International Press Award this year for Best Vocal Choir, will be supported by top-tier musicians from around the world too. Rhythm also features a Brazilian martial art showcase and samba performers. It gets better: All the Brazilian Voices members are volunteers, part of a nonprofit group that spreads Brazilian vocal cheer to the sick and suffering at local hospitals. What's not to love here? Viva! Saúde! The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $30 to $35. Visit browardcenter.org, or call 954-462-0222.
