Yes, it's only Friday, but it's never too early to get a start on your Sunday sauce. At least, you can learn how to make that sauce (er, isn't that gravy?) like an Italian grandmother during tonight's Publix Apron's Cooking School class with the DelGrosso Family. You may know DelGrosso as "the First Family of Pasta Sauce," a title they earned by first bottling their trademark sauce over 50 years ago. Michael and Haley, third- and fourth-generation DelGrossos respectively, will demo four unique family recipes that would look great on any Sunday table: Brasciole with marinara sauce, chicken puttanesca, Uncle Joe's stuffed peppers, and clams and mussels la famiglia.
The Publix Apron's Cooking School is located at 5050 Champion Blvd. in Boca Raton. Tickets cost $40. Visit publix.com/aprons for a full schedule of classes.
Fri., Jan. 9, 6:30 p.m., 2009
