If Sunday is to be considered God’s Day, and God smiles upon all those creatures of His who haveth soul, especially when their soul allows them to sing up to the heavens, then the Sunday BBQ at Alligator Alley (1321 E. Commercial Blvd., Oakland Park) is truly doing God’s work. Each Sunday at 4 p.m. throughout the summer, the holiest of holes in the wall invites J.P Soars, a man whose bluesy soul sings feverishly through his guitar, and his band the Red Hots, players whose spirits shine bright enough that they were so named, to jam within the Alley’s great walls until they fill with the sounds of glory. And God said, “There will be meat”; and so hamburgers and hot dogs are only $1 each, for they are a gift unto man from Him. And because He wants his children to be happy, and rejoice in His bounty, Bud and Bud Light beers will henceforth be $2 (henceforth, that is, from 4 to 6 p.m.). Although His land is vast and wide, Alligator Alley is small and narrow, so a tithe of $5 should be paid at the door. Call 954-771-2220, or visit www.alligatoralleyflorida.com.
