No Business Like Funny Business
Parody is still the best form of comedy. And while we love a good chuckle in any form, comedy has also steadily found music to be latest and greatest new medium of expression. Joke groups and bands and duos and solo artists make us laugh track after track, but how about some live musical funnies to really tug at your funny bone? If you enjoy catching the latest wave of parody on Saturday Night Live every weekend, then you will love the latest iteration of Forbidden Broadway. It's like SNL for the stage. Forbidden Broadway, which got its start back in 1982, is like one giant sketch, poking fun at the year's most successful Broadway casts and story lines. You'll catch references from the big hitters like Spiderman and the Book of Mormon but in the kitschiest way possible. Whether you are a die-hard Broadwayhead or rarely make it to the theater, this show is guaranteed to be hilarious and current. Disclaimer: Contains adult content and language -- just the way we like it. Forbidden Broadway 2014 -- Alive and Kicking is Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. at the Broward Performing Arts Center, located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $25 or $35.
