Not Your Grandma's Matzo Ball
While all the gentiles are snug in their beds dreaming of sugar plums or Xboxes or whatever, young single Jews from across South Florida will be gathering Monday for the biggest singles event of the year, the 26th-annual MatzoBall. Every Jewish mother dreams of her son meeting a nice Jewish girl or her daughter hooking up with a good Jewish boy. There are no guarantees that the girls will be nice or the boys will be good, but frankly, who besides Mom really wants that anyway?
This year the MatzoBall will go down at two locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Fort Lauderdale singles can head to Gryphon and Pangaea at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (5707 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Chosen lads and ladies in Palm Beach County can go to downtown Delray Beach's Il Bacio (29 SE Second Ave., Delray Beach). Organized by the Society of Young Jewish Professionals and JDate, each event costs $30 admission and runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets can be purchased with a credit card in advance or with cash only at the door. Mon., Dec. 24, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., 2012
