Home-grown and best-selling author John Dufresne will join fans at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale for an author talk and signing for his newest noir, No Regrets, Coyote, his eighth novel. The action begins with Florida-based forensic consultant Wylie "Coyote" Melville at a bloody crime scene where the Halliday family has been brutally killed. The police are convinced the deaths were a murder-suicide carried out by a broken and desperate Chafin Halliday, but Wylie is not so sure. As he begins his own investigation, he discovers a web of corruption within the local police union, with scheming lawyers, county politicians, and the Russian mob. What follows is an edgy tale. Dufresne is the author of seven previous books, including Love Warps the Mind a Little and Louisiana Power & Light. He is a faculty member of Florida International University and teaches in its Creative Writing Department. Join John Dufresne Thursday at 6 p.m. at Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, 1 East Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. To purchase a book and for more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 954-262-0255.
