Comics come in all different shapes and sizes. And while that relates to upbringing, cultural differences, and general appearance, those aren't the differences we're referring to. It's the route to comedy that truly makes the funnies. Those routes include improv, standup, impressions, acting, writing, and music. So when a comic hits his stride in more than one of those categories, it's a big deal not just for him but also for his audience. That's the case with Pablo Francisco. He broke onto the scene as a member of the MADtv cast and quickly parlayed his success into a standup career with a heavy emphasis on impressions. Now he mimics everyone from Howard Stern to William Hung, making Francisco's live show a real spectacle. He's made the rounds on the talk-show circuit and done his fair share of comedy specials, but that's just part of the job. Really, his live show is what shines. Loosened up by a few drinks and amazed by his string of impressions, you might forget he's the only guy onstage. See Pablo Francisco live this Thursday through Saturday during several performances at the Palm Beach Improv, located at 550 S. Rosemary Ave., Suite 250, in West Palm Beach. Tickets cost $25 plus fees, and there's a two-drink minimum. Visit palmbeachimprov.com, or call 561-833-1812.
