South Florida is bursting at the seams with creative folks, and the husband-and-wife team of Amanda and JR Linton is the cream of the crop. Merging the worlds of crafty cuteness and tattooing, the artistic duo's latest venture is a tattoo shop, art gallery, and boutique under one roof in the West Palm Beach neighborhood. Ink and Pistons Tattoo Shop features the talents of JR Linton and Chris Chaney, with piercings by Shorty. The space dedicated to the Slushbox Gallery and Stitch Rock Shop will hold monthly themed exhibits showcasing artwork, handmade goodies, and clothing by both local and national artists. Ink and Pistons Tattoo Shop is located at 2716 S. Dixie Highway, #101, in West Palm Beach. This Saturday's 7 p.m. grand opening will include an art show with a theme of hot rods, tattoo culture, Day of the Dead, and tiki culture, as well as a custom hot-rod show. PS561 and Sugar Mamma Sweets will serve refreshments. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. Call 561-832-4655, or visit inkandpistons.com.
Sat., Sept. 1, 7 p.m., 2012
