Last Halloween, it was clear — with the abundance of unkempt facial hair and trifecta of bandannas, leather, and smudged eyeliner — you were the best Capt. Jack Sparrow in the room. So when everyone exclaimed “Cool biker getup!” you became… less-than-thrilled. But it’s no one’s fault for the mix-up — bikers are the road equivalent to pirates of the high seas. There’s the emblematic use of skull and crossbones, reputations of being unruly houseguests, and a pioneering spirit when it comes to unchartered territory (even when it’s just an off-the-beaten-path coleslaw wrestling joint).

All of this makes the “Surrender the Booty Saturday Bike Nite” at Pirate Republic Bar (400 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale) along the New River a natural fit for bikers and pirates alike. Answer the booty call and attend this bash at both inside and outside bars. There will be beer buckets, food specials, live music, pool, give-aways, and plenty of space to park your sweet ride. The Harley-Davidson-sponsored parrrty starts at 7 p.m. every Saturday. No cover. Call 954-761-3500, or visit myspace.com/thepiraterepublic.
