The day after Christmas is always a bit of a letdown — because if you don’t celebrate St. Nick’s Day, the holidays mean nothing, but if you do celebrate it, you’re stuck eating day-old mashed sweet potatoes with guests who haven’t split yet. Ditch the family and head to Propaganda (6 S. J St., Lake Worth) for a show packed with your fellow music brethren. Sweet Bronco, a Fort Lauderdale three-piece that swoons with its gentle, lyrics-driven indie rock, headlines the night. The band, which was formerly a solo project by Christopher Horgan (formerly of Catalonia, Chlorine, and Terremoto Wombat), has now filled out with a bassist and drummer and is playing locally. The Pretty Faces, a garage-rock-inspired vintage-pop trio from Boca Raton, will play along with Retrocities, which belts out shoegaze-style rock infused with generous amounts of Joy Division. The show begins at 8 p.m.; tickets cost $5. Call 561-547-7273, or visit propagandalw.com.
Sat., Dec. 26, 8 p.m., 2009
