Putting the Art Back in Heart Since 2009
The French will argue lart pour lart. Art for arts sake. Aestheticism has its place, but most art has a story, involves symbolism, or serves some larger purpose. Serving a larger purpose is the mission behind Art/Heart. Formed about a year ago, Art/Heart plans to put on art shows that will both expose local artists to the public and raise money for different charities. A portion of the proceeds from this months event on Saturday will go to His House Childrens Home. More than 30 artists will have their work featured, with some artists on hand to make their creations live. There will also be several musical acts performing, including local indie band What Glorious Things and DJ AnaMated, from the Global Village. The show will run from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Pompano Citi Centre, 1955 N. Federal Highway, Ste. 104, in Pompano Beach. Admission is $5. Visit artheartreachinreachout.org.
Sat., Dec. 11, 8 p.m., 2010
