Pyrex Cures What Ails You

Shopper's remorse: Everyone suffers from it from time to time. Usually, it's the low that results from checking one's bank after the exhilarating high of a shop-a-thon, but there's another, more-insidious type. It's the feeling that comes from walking away from a one-of-a-kind item. Maybe it was that constellation-pattern Pyrex butter dish at Stitch Rock or the Indie Craft Bazaar. You had already purchased two harvest-gold mixing bowls and a spring-blossom serving dish. Surely you didn't need a butter dish. But it haunts you. After all, where would you find such an item again? Luckily, the City-Wide Market is here with the cure for what ails you. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, search the treasure-laden tables filling the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center (1801 NE Sixth St., Pompano Beach). Admission is free, and the first 100 guests will receive a swag bag full of goodies. In addition to Pyrex butter dishes and other vintage items, there will be handmade crafts made by local artisans, delicious baked goods, and holiday decorations. As with all local indie markets, you'll get your gift shopping done while recycling and supporting the local economy. And if you find a constellation-pattern Pyrex butter dish, don't let it get away. For more information or to be a vendor and unload some butter dishes of your own, email or visit
