From early cave drawings to the modern use of spray paint, styles and the culture surrounding graffiti are constantly changing and evolving. And yet the question remains: Is graffiti art or vandalism? C&I Studios (541 NW First Ave. in Fort Lauderdale) will attempt to answer the question with an affirmative “Art!” on Saturday with Rhythm & Sole, an evening of celebrating the underground culture of graffiti through local artists and music. Providing the soundtrack for the night will be DJ Shea Smith, with refreshments by the Dog Eat Dog and Ms. Cheezious food trucks. There will be an open bar, but don’t forget to tip those bartenders.
The event starts at 8 p.m., and admission is $20 at the door. To buy tickets, visit rhythmandsole.eventbrite.com. The art show goes until 11 p.m., with an official afterparty to follow at Laser Wolf (901 Progresso Drive, Ste. 101, in Fort Lauderdale). Visit c-istudios.com.
