While the daredevil aspect of motorcycle riding has been glorified more than the joys of safe riding have, trying to cheat death while operating any motor vehicle remains unwise and, truly, uncool. Luckily, there is a less painful way to get the "bad boy biker" dream out of your head than by smashing into the pavement sans helmet. The South East Police Motorcycle Rodeo at Seminole Hard Rock will feature about 150 motorcycle officers from Florida and throughout the East Coast setting a good example and having lots of fun as they compete on an exciting course designed by a committee of their peers. While watching these experienced riders employ safe techniques as they complete difficult tasks ought to serve as good inspiration for all current and aspiring riders, the event itself will serve an even greater good as it benefits COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) and other charities. As the officers compete, attendees can participate in raffles and a silent auction and enjoy a variety of food and vendor booths, a kid zone, and lots of family-friendly activities. Seminole Hard Rock is located at 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood. The free event begins at 8 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. Call 954-288-7201, or visit seminolehardrockhollywood.com.
