Here’s a test: Sing all the words to the national anthem. Stuck already? Well, it is a documented fact that most Americans don’t know the words. Now sing the first verse of “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease. Yes, you got chills, they’re multiplying, and you’re losing control... OK, stop singing for now. And fret not; you’re not a bad citizen: Grease is just an awesome movie!

Thursday through Saturday, the 1978 musical returns to the big screen for the Grease Sing-a-Long” event at Sunrise Cinemas (1820 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). As the movie plays, fans can sing as the song lyrics are displayed on the screen karaoke-style. So put on your Pink Ladies jackets and slick back your hair, because audience participation is encouraged, although if you’re going to “hand jive,” you’ll need to stand in the aisles so you don’t smack your neighbors. Showtimes are at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and tickets cost $10. Call 954-763-7994, or visit sunrisecinemas.com/gateway.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 & 9:30 p.m. Starts: July 8. Continues through July 17, 2010
