Snow White and the Seven Mullets
Fairy tales have been fertile grounds for creative inspiration of late. Films and television series loosely based in the myths of yesteryear abound. And now, the fairies are taking to the stage in Snow White Trash. In this reimagining of the tale of the ill-fated pasty princess, Snow finds herself surrounded not by cherubic dwarfs but by rednecks who are trying to marry her off to the prince. Unfortunately, the prince is as gay as a Wilton Manors parade and wants to get hitched just to secure his inheritance. And of course, the evil queen is still out to get her. Running at the Empire Theater (1140 N. Flagler Drive, Fort Lauderdale) through the 28th, this Infinite Abyss original production is certainly not the fairy tale that melanin-challenged little girls everywhere dream of. Catch it Friday for the preview and pay only $15. Tickets cost $25 for regular shows. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Group and student rates are available.
