Soccer For All
Still not sure what all the World Cup hype is about? It's like the world's powers combined to make soccer not boring by throwing in a heavy dose of national pride with a side of healthy competition. But the beauty of the World Cup is that even the un-sports-initiated can have a good time, because picking a place to watch is the best part. Every bar and restaurant features awesome deals and is more packed for the games than on an average Friday night.
Taking it up a notch is Viva Brasil at the Village at Gulfstream Park. With so many bars and restaurants, the Village is the perfect place to hop around without having to move your car. All of the restaurants are participating in the festivities. Take Martini Bar, which will feature six custom cocktails, each inspired by a top country in the tournament; or the Yardhouse, which will celebrate all things international soccer by serving three signature Brazilian cocktails. Even the stores will be offering World Cup-inspired fare. It's like an instant bar crawl, but one that is über-safe and potentially too fun.
Viva Brasil is Saturday through July 13 at the Village at Gulfstream Park, located at 501 S. Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach. Admission is free. Restaurant hours vary. Visit thevillageatgulfstreampark.com.
