Not only is he a knockout performer; he’s physically capable of kicking your ass. He throws a mean uppercut. From gun and assault charges to hosting duties on Def Comedy Jam to winning an NAACP Image Award to accusations of sexual harassment to acting alongside Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, and Tim Robbins, Lawrence has always kept it real. He’s got the comic ability and popular appeal of Richard Pryor, and he talks about race, men, and women in the language of the streets. He has appeared on Star Search and in two Spike Lee joints, and he’s the star of the blockbuster Big Momma films. And he’s so funny that even marijuana can’t stop laughing when he tells a joke.
