A gay sheep, a Canadian mime, a Holocaust denier, two Holocaust survivors, and a 19th-century diva are gracing the stage at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale) tonight. Theyre characters in the Summer Shorts Festival, a bonanza of 19 short plays put on by City Theater and South Floridas best actors and directors. This year is the debut of Undershorts, a program for adults that features tetherball and gun violence and sex with a ventriloquists puppet. Signature Shorts, the main event, has some uproariously funny bits: Theres a skit about a deranged Montessori director and a monologue by an openly gay sheep. Signature Shorts runs in two parts, programs A and B. Tickets cost $92 for both programs and a dinner in-between, or $35 for one of em. Call 954-462-0222, or visit www.browardcenter.org.
