Take a Walk on the Wild Side
Characters from a good children’s book just might find themselves sneaking into your world of imagination. But now’s your chance to become part of their world when you visit the national traveling exhibit “Where the Wild Things Are: Maurice Sendack in His Own Words and Pictures” at the Young at Art Museum in Davie. Step into the pages of Sendack’s books and slide into a bowl full of foam soup and rice, stuffed carrots, and rubber chickens at the Chicken Soup Bowl and Kitchen. Or take a look in the Wild Things Fun Mirror and don the costumes of your favorite characters. All ages are welcome to explore all things wild at 751 SW 121st Ave. from Saturday through September 15. The museum is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets cost $13 per person, $12 for seniors and children over age 1, and $11 for Broward County residents. Call 954-424-0085, or visit youngatartmuseum.org.
Mondays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: June 10. Continues through Sept. 15, 2013
