Leave your topsiders at home, Pops this definitely isnt your grandfathers afternoon regatta. The biggest powerboats in the nation are revving it up in Sunny Isles Beach for the second annual Offshore Powerboat Challenge Weekend. From the shores of Floridas Riviera (sort of), you can watch motorists take it to Bimini and back in the Bimini Memorial Ocean Race (last year, the record was set at 1 hour 44 seconds), or place your bets on the Thunderboat Poker Run.
Things culminate this Sunday with the Offshore Super Series powerboat contest, where racers packing major power will prove that size does matter. The winner will score more than just bragging rights; he or she will be helping a good cause: the charity Take Stock in Children.
