Thats a Real Potter, Harry!
Sure, your momma seems proud of that stupid, lumpy bowl you made at summer camp (fyi, shes convinced its an ashtray), but its time you saw what a bona fide potter can do with a mound of clay at Armory Art Centers newest exhibit, Sphere of Influence. Head over to Armorys Montgomery Hall Gallery (1700 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach) and experience works from Christine Federighi an internationally recognized artist and former professor in the University of Miamis ceramics program -- and assemblages of found objects and bronze sculptures from late Armory Sculpture Chair Terry Thommes. Look close at Federighis work and youll see symbols, images, and shapes that ought to ring a bell like a torso composed of varying interlocked leaves. Sadly, Federighi recently passed away, but you can celebrate her amazing legacy and the pieces her work inspired at Sphere. Scope the whole joint for free Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 561-832-1776, or visit www.armoryart.org.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 28. Continues through Jan. 24, 2007
