The Art of Coffee
Josh Miller is a man with a plan, a creative plan. Founding owner of idea agency C&I Studios in FAT Village, Miller and his crew have been providing killer events -- sweet music nights, fashion shoots, art showcases, and movies sometimes projected onto the ceiling -- in its industrial studio space for some time. Now, imagine a place such as this expanding into a community space opened daily for you and your friends to gather, sip on cappuccinos, and observe creatives at play. This is a snippet of what is expected with Next Door at C&I, the agency's latest venture -- a new venue opening literally next door to its existing studio. Inside, Brew Urban Café will serve espresso and loose teas in the mornings to midafternoon, and on weekend nights, a full liquor bar will beckon guests with a menu featuring nonalcoholic beverages, craft beers, and craft cocktails amid a vintage library backdrop in a totally cozy atmosphere. On the other side of the room is an Airstream, which will house a recording studio available for rental bookings, and alongside that is an open-faced photography studio that can be seen wherever attendees are seating. Next Door opens with a grand bash at 8 p.m. Friday. Expect live music, food trucks, good conversation, and an escape from typical South Florida. Next Door will roll out its daily operations at 7 a.m. the following day. Join the opening party at 8 p.m. Friday at 541 NW First Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Visit c-istudios.com. Admission is free.
