The Habs and Habs Not
When hockey fans list the teams that have disappointed so far this season, the Montreal Canadiens dont come to mind. Thats because Montreals beloved Les Habitants, or simply the Habs, werent expected to do much, really, and so far theyve played to that as a middling to lower-tier team in the Northeast Division, sort of like how the Panthers season is playing out in the Southeast. The Canadiens have won 24 Stanley Cups but none since 1992-93 and are still the darlings of Montreal and most Québecois, so Panther fans may find themselves in the minority when the Canadiens make their final visit of the regular season to BankAtlantic Center (1 Panther Parkway, Sunrise) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Cats lost 5-4 to the Canadiens at the Bank on December 31, then lost 2-0 at Montreals Bell Centre on January 7 and should be motivated not to allow the Canadiens the sweep. Tickets start at $10.
