They Really Go With Everything
If youve been crushing hard for a time before Pro Tools and Auto-Tune were the great equalizers of pop music, responsible for the T-Pains of this world, then its time to revisit the 1950s greatness of the guy group. With street corner harmonies, each member played an essential part in carrying the tune. Dinner jackets and bowties aside, the genre was the height of pop coolness, until the arrival of the Beatles. So its fitting that in the storyline of the classic off-Broadway hit, Forever Plaid, the four members of the Plaids are killed in a car crash involving a bus of schoolgirls en route to see the Fab Four perform (delayed spoiler alert). Tonight at 8, for the 20th anniversary of the play, a film version with a live finale will be shown in 500 theaters countrywide, including the Regal Cypress Creek Station 16 (6415 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $18. Call 954-771-0033, or visit fathomevents.com for additional locations.
