Guy Bavli can stop his heart from beating. He predicted Israeli elections correctly on television two weeks before the results were in. He bends spoons and sign posts with his mind. But can he part rush hour traffic on I-95? Stop the ticker of that bearded madman 90 miles south of Key West? Maybe predict how many named storms Miami will see this hurricane season? Were just saying. The Israeli-born performer is one of the foremost mentalists (and no, thats not an insult) on the planet, having performed in front of tens of thousands of disbelieving cynics both in person and on television, but hes never faced an egocentric crowd the likes of which hell see at the Trump International Beach Resort (18001 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles Beach) Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Its one thing to face a packed venue at Caesars Palace in Vegas or Carnegie Hall in the Big Apple but something else to face our brand of disbelievers. Bavli says hes up to it. In fact, his Miami performances will be some of his most intimate to date. I usually perform in large theaters and casinos [600 to 2,800 people]. This time, it is very intimate so everyone can participate and feel a part of the show, Bavli says. His Miami shows will explore the power of the mind with predictions, telekinesis, body language, and more. And [it] will be very funny and interactive, he adds. Tickets cost $40 to $80. Hell be at the Trump International every Friday in July. Call 305-692-5600, or visit masterofthemind.com.
