Ginther, along with Vintage owner Michelle Parparian, have sold their cupcakes from the backroom of their shop in a 1920s cottage for over two years now, serving chocolate and vanilla versions to-go and filling orders for parties and weddings. But today, House of Sweets is going big time with the grand opening of its new, dine-in venue, Cupcake Cafe. Stop by from noon to 6 p.m. for a veritable cupcake party: there'll be outdoor tables and picnic-style grass seats in front to set down and nosh; chocolate and vanilla will still rock the party (at $1.75 each), but Ginther and company will now offer specialty flavors like cookies and cream and the oft-requested red velvet ($3 each). At 3 p.m. folks will gather 'round for a cupcake eating contest that dreams are made of: fastest to a dozen wins. And the House of Vintage will pump out some ΄50s and ΄60s jams while a Summer Sale inside puts retro duds on discount.
Find the House o' plenty at 123 S. Swinton Ave. in Delray Beach. The Cafe will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 6, and Thursday through Saturday, noon to 9. Call 561-276-7477, or visit houseofsweetsbakery.com.
