What a Woman
Did you know Megan Mullally is married to Nick Offerman, the actor who plays Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec? That is probably not the most feminist way to introduce a wildly talented actress and performer who was nominated for seven consecutive Emmys (and won two), won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and was nominated for four Golden Globes. She's had roles on Happy Endings, 30 Rock, Up All Night, Boston Legal, and a GLAAD Award-winning episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine -- not to mention a recurring guest role opposite her aforementioned life partner on Parks and Recreation. But how else does one introduce such an amazing and popular woman if not with a fun and little-known factoid? Besides, who doesn't love Offerman/Swanson? Having such good taste in men only solidifies what we already knew about Mullally's seemingly unending awesomeness. Oh, did we mention she's got some impressive pipes too? She's no stranger to the boards of Broadway, having performed in Grease, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Young Frankenstein. Hear her for yourself as she performs with pianist Seth Rudetsky at the Parker Playhouse as part of the WinterStage Concert Series at 8 p.m. Thursday. Tickets cost $51.50 to $126.50. The Parker Playhouse is located at 707 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-462-0222, or visit parkerplayhouse.com.
