Zombies are People Too
They’re in desperate needs of braaaiiinnsss, but they’ve still got some heart. The Zombie Brotherhood will slowly lumber together Saturday for the Zombie Motorcycle Club Full Moon Ride, an apocalyptic-sounding venture that very much supports the living (proceeds from the themed ride benefit Florida-based charity Camp Boggy Creek). Suit up like a flesh-eating member of the army of the undead and join in a police-escorted ride that starts at Bruce Campbell’s, errr, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Sunrise Harley-Davidson and winds its way to Miller’s Ale House. Need a little help with the “just got done gnawing off my neighbor’s arm” look? An on-site makeup artist will provide that “just bitten” zombie glow for $15. Nonriders — AKA, the walking dead — also are invited to participate as spectators and at pre- and postride festivities, which include games, music, and food (presumably of the non-human-flesh variety). The Zombie Motorcycle Club Full Moon Ride is at 5 p.m. The ride starts at 7:30 p.m. Nonriders can purchase a $5 pass to join the postride party at Dirty Blondes. The cost to ride is $20. For $35, join the ride and receive a T-shirt, or pay $55 for a VIZ (as in Very Important Zombie) pass. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Sunrise Harley-Davidson is located at 201 International Parkway in Sunrise. Miller’s Ale House is located at 2861 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Dirty Blondes is located at 229 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale.
