So everyone's talking about how the French duo Air's latest disc, Talkie Walkie, is a total "makeout album" filled with softcore-porn soundtrack fodder, longing glances, and face-in-the-pillow talk. That's all fine and good, but two Brits, Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker, a.k.a. Zero 7, created an album in 2001 that was made for getting felt up. Simple Things, that group's debut, combined jazzy, dreamy, minor-key melodies with the come-hither vocals of Sia Furler and Sophie Barker for 14 tracks of bedpost-knocking, let's-do-it-on-the-washing-machine, turn-the-music-up-so-the-neighbors-don't-hear sonic goodness. Zero 7's latest album, When It Falls, is more of the same tantric, twinkling, soulful jams, perfect for a night of "coming down" or going down. Wink. Nudge.
