Huh? While less traditional, the D1PW Extreme Christmas Tree Match has just what you need to relieve pent-up holiday anxiety. Scream wildly in the Davie Police Athletic League Gym (4300 SW 57th Terr., Davie) while fighters in spandex hurl each other into the ropes, then watch in blissful awe as they claw their way to a pile of wrapped packages in hopes of finding that perfect gift for that “special someone.” Just what are those tools of mischief masquerading as benign Christmas surprises? “In past years the match included items such as standard wrestling weapons (folding chairs, garbage cans, stop signs, etc.)” says D1PW’s promoter the Fabulous Frank,\. But this year, he promises, “there are a couple of items for that will be quite creative.” Indeed. Tickets cost $12, but are half price with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.
