Lea DeLaria has worked the standup comedy circuit for more than 25 years, but her shows are oh so much more than just jokes: The openly gay performer is part comedian, part jazz singer, all topped off with a dollop of political commentary and a dash of raunch. DeLaria is a study of contrasts: Her personality is as brash as a honking trumpet, but her singing voice resonates like a melodious horn as she weaves through jazz standards and show tunes. South Florida will get a sampling of the DeLaria experience this weekend when she performs “Lea DeLaria — Live,” two nights of comedy and song, at the Manor Epic Showroom at 7:30 p.m. Friday and again on Saturday. Expect the crowd to be filled with jazz aficionados and general lesbian fans. The Manor Complex is located at 2345 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. Tickets cost $39 to $59.
