Recently there was a moment, one of those Oprah “aha moments,” when you swore off human beings as suitable drinking buddies for good. There you were gingerly holding back your coworker’s daiquiri-soaked ponytail, crammed into a bathroom stall overlooking a porcelain throne, and it just came to you: Humans can be a despicable lot. Since then, you’ve spent your time kicking back in the company of canines exclusively, but even they can get a little sick of your routine poker nights at home. For a little variety, take the whole pack out to Riverwalk Mutts & Martinis Yappy Hour at Briny Riverfront Pub. Billed as Fort Lauderdale’s largest dog-friendly happy hour, the night includes complimentary drinks, appetizers, raffles, prizes, live music, doggy caricatures, and a Walk the Runway doggy fashion show for you and your four-legged friends. Tickets cost $25, with a portion of profits benefiting the Riverwalk Trust. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at Briny Riverfront Pub (305 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Call 954-376-4741, or visit goriverwalk.com.
