On the eve of the Super Bowl, Fort Lauderdale beach will be alive with music and fireworks as the National Football League hosts Super Bowl Saturday Night. The event will feature live bands and a fireworks finale that will light up the sky (like the Dolphins used to light up scoreboards back in the ’70s). Co-headlining the event will be chart-busting national acts O.A.R. and The Barenaked Ladies, and Robert Randolph and The Family Band will open the evening. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a DJ set and video entertainment; live music begins at 6 p.m.; and the fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:40 p.m. This event is free to the public and will take place at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park adjacent to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel (the old Yankee Clipper), just north of Holiday Drive on A1A.
