Tonight, check out “This Land is My Land,” an exhibit of Latin American artists at Art Expressions Gallery (1438 NE 26 St., Fort Lauderdale). No, it’s not a Woody Guthrie tribute to redwood forests and Gulf Stream waters (Remember his song: “This land is your land, this land is my land/From California, to the New York Island.”) Rather, it’s an exhibit celebrating Hispanic Heritage month and the Latin artists who call Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties home. Art Expressions Gallery is holding this exhibit to show the “particular passion unique to Latin American Art.” Check out works by Colombian Ana Maria Hoyos, Adriano Nicot from Cuba, Venezuelan Isabel Perez, and the Dominican Republic’s own Vicente Fabre. The artwork on display ranges from original paintings and illustrations to mixed media creations and sculpture. The exhibit runs through Oct. 29, and regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Call 954-537-9000, or visit artexpressions.tk.
Wed., Oct. 14, noon; Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, noon; Sundays, 1 p.m. Starts: Oct. 14. Continues through Oct. 29, 2009
