It’s officially fall. The weather is cooling to 80 degrees, the mosquitoes are dying, and everyone is starting to talk about the Miami Heat. So much has changed, though. Tim Hardaway’s number is being retired; Alonzo Mourning is the VP of Player Programs; and Quentin Richardson is now on the team. But once again, the Heat have something to prove — especially The Boss: D-Wade.

This Sunday at 6 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami), come hear leather balls swooshing through nylon nets and watch the Heat take on that perennial playoff squad, the San Antonio Spurs. This is your chance to see Tim Duncan’s off-the-glass jump shot up close, so you can whip out your version on the unsuspecting chumps at Flamingo Park. Plus eat hot dogs, spill popcorn on the person sitting in front of you, and drink beer till Chalmers starts to look like Michael Jordan. Tickets start at $10. Call 786-777-HOOP, or visit miamiheat.com.
