Taking a shot of tequila can give you the type of heady inebriation that one-night stands are made of, and chugging beer from a frosty mug can bring you to your knees — either in front of a toilet or in front of your bedmate. But when you take the time to sniff, sip, and swish a glass of wine, there’s a different high. The grape elixir coasts to your brain, seducing your receptors with a rose-tinted feeling of “I’m too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it huuurts.” True, a highball full of Arbor Mist can give similar effects, but imagine what a nicer class of suitors you’ll seduce over a rioja from the vineyards of Spain. This evening at the Bass Museum (2121 Park Ave., Miami Beach), enjoy The Art of Fine Wine: Boutique Wines of Spain, a journey through viniculturally rich regions such as Ribera del Duero, Rioja, and Somontano. Expert Damon Myers, complimentary meats and cheeses, and your taste buds will be on hand to enhance your experience. Thirty bucks gets you access. Reservations are required; call 305-673-7530, ext. 1013, to make yours. The imbibing starts at 7:30 p.m.
