If you see kids vandalizing a Cadillac downtown this weekend, hopefully theyre the ones with water-based paint: The car company asked them to decorate as part of a Las Olas Art Fair exhibit. (If the Caddy is yours, however, you have legitimate reason for concern.) Yep, this extravaganza has come a long way, baby, claiming the throne as the largest art festival in the county and one of the top events in the nation. Howard Alan Events marketing director Darrin Alan said the Las Olas Art Fair began as a cute little sidewalk show with 15 crafters, but now 300 fine artists can be found selling sculptures, oil and acrylic paintings, and diamond and gold jewelry. Admission is free, but do bring wads of cash for that one-of-a-kind find. Roam Fort Lauderdales Las Olas Boulevard between SE Sixth Ave. and SE 11th Ave. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 954-472-3755, or visit www.artfestival.com.
