It's no small feat for a film about autism to leave you entertained, and Autism: The Musical is doing just that while winning rave reviews on the indie film circuit. Critics are throwing out words like "warm" and "uplifting" and even "funny" about the documentary – so FLIFF is bringing it here for you, good reader. Autism chronicles the lives of five children afflicted with this mysterious neurological disorder, as they create and star in their own full-length musical. Sometimes sad, other times powerful, the movie draws attention to a disorder that’s emblazoned across national headlines, yet few understand. Don't miss this one-time-only screening, today at 2 p.m., at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, NSU (3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd., Davie); the screening is a fundraiser for the NSU's Baudhuin Preschool Parent Organization, serving children with autism and their families. Tickets cost $15. Call 954-760-9898, or visit www.fliff.com.
