You'd think with the plethora of New Yorkers down here and the inundation of Italian restaurants that I'd have no problem finding one of my favorite desserts. But cannoli seem to be in short supply, and my longing for the pastries increases with each failed attempt to find one. My cure? A stop into Boca's busiest take-out/delivery restaurant, The Cannoli Kitchen (2001 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, 561-338-2929). The sweetened, homemade ricotta cheese, spiked with cinnamon, is piped into the pastry shells to order, then rolled in chocolate chips. Have half a dozen delivered for $9.95. Then you won't be tempted by the Kitchen's other signature items, which include baked ziti pizza, stuffed artichokes, salad with Gorgonzola and Genoa salami, fusilli cognac, and osso buco Milanese. Of course if you're looking for a full-course Italian meal, one consumed in your own home, you can have it all.
