Just when you thought the endless football season was coming to an end, basketball kicks into high gear. Now, not only do you have to watch another sport you don’t care about but your Law & Order reruns are getting preempted on TNT. Oh, the humanity! Luckily, the Humane Society (pun intended) is here to help bring meaning back to sports night. Instead of getting dragged to just any old bar to watch the Heat-Raptors game at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, steer your sports fanatic over to Mickey Byrnes Irish Pub. Mickey’s will be hosting a “Layla’s Party Pack Unbirthday Party” to raise money for the Humane Society of Broward County. For a $10 suggested donation, you get a free drink, live music, a costume contest, an unbirthday cupcake, a raffle ticket, and the warm glow of knowing you helped animals you care about while watching a sport that you don’t.
