Some people were born to be attorneys, ophthalmologists, or even shoe salesmen. But Joe Posa? He was born to strap on an evening gown and a blond wig and sashay across the red carpet like a Pekingese on speed. That’s because Posa is a female celebrity impersonator — and one of the best in the country, to boot. Those strong, angled cheekbones of his have been powdered up to appear in TV and movies as classic drag icons like Liza Minnelli and Susan Lucci.

This Friday, Posa will sink his heels into the multilevel nightclub the Manor (2345 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors). His all guy/girl, singing, dancing revue, “An Evening at the Birdcage,” is a riotous drag party hailing from his hometown of Boston. The show is headlined by the always fashionable Joan Rivers (well, Posa as Rivers), and joining her on stage will be a cavalcade of gay femme icons: Barbra Streisand (Steven Brinberg), Judy Garland (Tommy Femia), and the Queen of Drag herself, Cher (Thirsty Burlington). The show starts promptly at 6:30 p.m., and tickets start at $25. Call 954-626-0082, or visit joeposa.com.
