Ever since the Psychedelic Furs played Revolution with Happy Mondays back in 2009, the English postpunk favorites have seemingly made South Florida a regular tour stop. This Friday marks the band's second show at Culture Room in the past two years, and it's welcome indeed. The London-birthed band, led by brothers Richard (lead vocals) and Tim (bass) Butler, is best-known for gravelly vocaled, moody '80s hits like "Love My Way" and "Pretty in Pink."

Yes, the latter became the title song for the John Hughes movie of the same name, and the band even rerecorded it for the purpose. But the track originally appeared on an earlier Furs record, 1981's Talk Talk Talk, the band's second disc. Full of reverb and Velvets Underground-influenced drone, it helped create the template for so-called "college rock" later in the decade. This year, obviously, marks the album's 20th anniversary, and the band will be playing it in its entirety on the current tour.
