Givers' infectious indie pop recently caught the ear of the Dirty Projectors, and a touring partnership was formed earlier this year. Now the Lafayette, Louisiana, quintet is out on the road as a headliner, and groove-heavy songs like "Ceiling of Plankton" have been positively aligned with Vampire Weekend's Afro-pop influences for a night of giddy revelry.
Lake Worth's John Ralston, who has dipped into a variety of experimental rock styles over the years, fronts his Americana-leaning, eight-piece Invisible Music project for the night. Heavy on the violin and lap steel, these songs warm the heart even when they deal with heartbreak. Also opening, West Palm Beach's the Dewars — a fresh mix of rootsy Beck, goth-leaning Leonard Cohen, and a little punk too — are more intriguing with every gig they play.
